The Nintendo DS, or DS for short, is one of our favorite handheld consoles. It came out in Europe in 2005 and enriched the market for the first time with dual-screen, touch function, and microphone! The games are almost as small as an SD card, the range of games is immense and there are also a lot of ROMs as well as hacks for the older consoles. The Mario Kart series is of course included in our list of the best DS games. Mario Kart DS is the first part of the series, in which classic courses of previous Mario Kart parts can be driven. Yoshi’s Island DS
The colorful Yoshi’s Island DS seamlessly ties in with one of our favorite titles, its legendary predecessor Yoshi’s Island for Super Nintendo. There are new levels, new gameplay, and most importantly: new babies! Now play with Mario, Peach, Donkey Kong, Wario, or even Baby Bowser on your back and experience a completely new adventure in the style of the old part. Yoshi’s Island is definitely worth another visit.
Pokémon Diamant & Pokémon Perl
In Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, the player on the Nintendo DS is challenged to explore the Sinnoh region with a total of 107 new Pokémon, for a total of 493 Pokémon. Well-known Pokémon such as Pantimimi, Lucario, and Snibunna make their debut. The three starting Pokémon also make their first appearance here: the Fire Pokémon Panflam, the Water Pokémon Plinfa, or the Plant Pokémon Chelast! For the first time, the game series appeared with this part on the Nintendo DS and shines in a completely new look! New Super Mario Bros
New Super Mario Bros., the 2D platformer with a 3D look made it to a high ranking of the best DS games! The game takes everything that makes the Super Mario series so great to the next level with the DS title! With the new edition of the series, the developers are offering new moves, new power-ups like the Maxi-Mushroom, which lets you crush half the level, and the Mini-Mushroom, which lets you shrink to open up new paths!
